Your First Class

Here is exactly what happens when you walk through the door for the first time.

Arrive

Come 10 minutes early, wear comfortable clothes (trackpants, t-shirt), bring water and a towel.

Train

Warm-up, basic techniques, partner drills at your own pace. No contact sparring for beginners.

Connect

Meet the instructors and other students. Cool down, stretch, ask questions.

Return

Keep training Tuesday nights. Progress through belt ranks at your own pace.

Do I need to be fit?

No. Fitness builds with training. We train complete beginners alongside black belts.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes. Kids Karate (ages 8+) is supervised, age-appropriate, and focused on coordination, discipline and confidence.

Will I have to fight?

Not until you’re ready. No contact sparring for your first 9 months or first grading.

What age can my child start?

From age 8 in our Kids Karate program (Tuesdays 6–7pm).

How much does it cost?

Contact us for current rates. Your first class is always free.

Do I need equipment?

Just yourself to start. Comfortable clothes and water. A uniform (gi) is available through the club once you enrol.

What is Zen Do Kai?

Australian freestyle martial arts founded by Soke Bob Jones. It draws from karate, boxing, Muay Thai and grappling — “the best of everything in progression.”
